Dr. Paul Ray Clark is a fellowship-trained aesthetic plastic surgeon known for his meticulous approach, advanced techniques, and warm, relationship-based care. After training at top institutions and practicing in the competitive San Diego market, Dr. Clark returned to Tallahassee with a clear vision—to redefine modern aesthetic care in the region with a fresh, patient-centered experience that blends precision, artistry, and authenticity.
Dr. Clark and his wife, Kristen, first fell in love with the Tallahassee area during his general surgery training at Florida State University and Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, where he was a member of the inaugural General Surgery Residency Program and the first graduating chief resident. Years later, with three children and a thriving private practice behind them, they made the decision to bring their family—and Dr. Clark’s aesthetic expertise—back to what is once again their home.
As the founder of Moderne Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Dr. Clark brings not only surgical excellence, but also a deep commitment to honesty, education, and lasting relationships. His time in San Diego, alongside some of the field’s most recognized aesthetic surgeons, shaped a refined aesthetic eye and mastery of advanced procedures such as the deep plane facelift and subfascial breast augmentation. He now offers these techniques exclusively in North Florida, along with a suite of signature procedures developed through his fellowship experience, reconstructive training, and private practice—each infused with his own creative vision and personal refinements.
Thoughtful, modern, and highly specialized, Dr. Clark approaches each patient as a partner—helping them navigate their aesthetic goals with clarity, safety, and a deep respect for individuality.
With a professional background in interior design and an innate passion for modern aesthetics, Kristen Mae Clark brings both artistic expertise and a deeply personal touch to her role as Practice Manager and Patient Care Coordinator at Moderne Aesthetic. Before co-founding the practice alongside her husband, Dr. Paul Ray Clark, Kristen led a successful career as an interior designer in San Diego, California—crafting refined, contemporary spaces that balanced beauty with functionality.
As the visionary behind the office design at Moderne Aesthetic, Kristen personally curated every detail of the space to reflect the practice’s philosophy: elevated, modern care in a setting that feels warm, welcoming, and far from clinical. Her design approach mirrors the same principles that guide patient care—intentional, thoughtful, and entirely centered on the individual experience. The result is a boutique environment where patients feel both relaxed and inspired from the moment they arrive.
In addition to overseeing the daily operations of the practice, Kristen plays a hands-on role in guiding patients through their aesthetic journey. Her warmth, intuition, and dedication to meaningful connection ensure that each patient feels supported, understood, and celebrated—whether they are visiting for surgical care, non-surgical treatments, or wellness offerings.
As a mother of three and long-time partner throughout Dr. Clark’s medical training and cross-country journey, Kristen now brings her full energy to helping patients feel at home while achieving their most confident selves.
Dr. Clark and Kristen were married in the beautiful Caribbean island of Sint Maarten and now raise their three children—Carter, Collin, and Audrey—with a shared love for family, community, and the outdoors. Audrey was born right here in Tallahassee, making the city an even more special part of their story. Outside the operating room, Dr. Clark enjoys early mornings with a good cup of coffee, is dedicated to personal fitness, and finds joy skateboarding and staying active with his children, who are involved in a variety of sports.
